Veterans Returning to a Tough Economy

On August 5th 2011, President Obama announced his Administration's initiatives aimed at reducing the unemployment rate of veterans, a specific sector of the population that has been hit hard by the tough economy. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) "Employment Situation of Veterans News Release" for 2011, the unemployment rate among veterans was at staggeringly high levels.

Updated: GSA's System for Award Management (SAM) Admits Security Vulnerability: Names, Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TINs) & Bank Information Potentially Compromised

Last night at 10:55PM eastern, users of the GSA's System for Award Management (SAM) were sent an email by Amanda Fredriksen, the Acting Assistant Commissioner of the Integrated Award Environment informing them of a severe security vulnerability of the system, including the potential breach of names, taxpayer ID numbers and bank information associated with their accounts.
